Finally, I've arrived in Cusco, Peru

30/07/10 - Finally, after nearly 3 days in transit, I touched down in Cusco. I arrived in Cusco a bit after 7:00am, and although tired, I was very excited for the adventures ahead. Maximo Nivel (The volunteer organisation) arranged for a driver to pick me up and take me back to volunteer headquarters. After signing in, I was told where my home away from home, for the next 3 months would be. My location - Umanchata (street name), San Pedro (Suburb).

I don't think I could have asked for a better volunteer house. A four storey palace (by Peruvian standards) and a mixture of great people. San Pedro house accommodates up to 15 volunteers at any one time. To my surprise nearly 50% of the house was Australian! There is also a few Americans, a Kiwi, a Swede and a Russian.

After unpacking all of my bags and settling into my new room I was off to explore the city with my new roommate Jack uno (there are dos Jacks in San Pedro house).

After only looking around for a few hours, the lack of sleep had finally caught up on me. We headed back home, and it was time for some much needed sleep.

After sleeping almost 15 hours, the batteries were recharged and I was ready to enjoy my first full day in Cusco.....

Stay tuned
